Known for their unforgettable high energy live performances, Point 5 Covenant has performed across the U.S., from California to New York, but can usually be found on stage somewhere in their home state of Texas. Kiel Werking (aka Moses The Black) and Flip Caderao (aka J The Primate) formed Point 5 Covenant in the fall of 2002. Following in the footsteps and vocal stylings of innovative hip hop groups such as The Beastie Boys and The Black Eyed Peas, over 50,000 pairs of ears have heard P5C bring a message and a live show that educates and entertains.
P5C blends the positive trends of a hip hop party with the deep spiritual Faith of the Catholic Church. Point 5 began as a non-denominational Christian hip hop ministry in order to put their Christian Faith in action, hastening after God’s Word through James 2:17: “faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead”. Since the group’s conception, Flip Caderao converted to the Roman Catholic Faith and Kiel Werking reverted back to the Roman Catholic Faith.
Point 5 Covenant is not only at the forefront of the music industry, they are at the frontlines of Christian ministry. In conjunction with Aftermass Records and Phatmass.com, Point 5 utilizes a progressive ministry through music and online community.
With their brand new CD, titled “Listen.Learn.” Point 5 is translating the ministry of the Church into the language of the Millenal generation: rap music. Whether the listener is dancing to “Break Y'all”, hearing an ordained priest rap on “Axis”, or reflecting on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary in “Sorrowful”, they are sure to learn about the transformative power of Christ and the ministry of His Holy Church.
